Abstract: In the performance lecture, we will look at what it means to lose one’s online identity through a personal account of it, and conceptualise death on the internet. In 2021, my online identity (Grow Digga) was hacked and taken over by the group Best Amazing Action Movie 2021 resulting in the permanent deletion of it. Since then, I have been without an online identity.

Through “so me killed me /deleted is”, I attempt to put into words, sounds and pictures, what it means to disappear and die on the internet, something for which there seems to be a very limited language for. What happens when we die online, where do we go? I explore these questions, the potential of freedom that re-death and disappearance can produce and how forms of interaction between the human and non-human can operate as a hate-gratitude paradigm. The lecture is based on extracts from the essay “so me killed me” that will be published later in 2024 by Jennifee-See Alternate.

When nature is glitching, overheating, and the cables are in between the leaves. All around the body of the trees, like a progressive fashion show. Why do we even compare it with the world we’re in, with a stupid machine, our own. So it’s already old, as soon as it’s invented. Born screaming cause it cannot change fast enough. It cannot be pure liquid, it cannot be as we became. So we can only focus on its faults, that are all our own, and we compare it with us and then it’s already old, already boring, already in-visoned and imprisoned.
